Here's a link to CNN. http://money.cnn.com/2011/11/09/news/international/global_economy/index.htm?hpt=hp_t1 Not quick to run around yelling the sky is falling. IMO when mainstream media, and CNN is about as mainstream as it gets, begins ringing the bell, there may well be something to it. I expect PMs to shoot up soon as more and more people become aware of the world economic climate and the weakness of our monetary systems becomes obvious. Of course none of this is really news to us here, but an example of mainstream sounding the same alarms as we've heard ringing for awhile.

Look at the common bond here - US centric idealists. If I was living in the US and understood how much crap they were in, I'd be fairly pessimistic about everything as well.
I wish I could at least be pessimistic. It's bad, maybe not for everyone, my familiy is ok, but for millions it's terrible. The problem is I don't see it getting any better. Jobs overseas, illegal labor, increasing taxation and regulation on business. Plus we're are a consumer based economy now. The future looks bleak even to a natural optimist like me
As long a sgovernment regulations strangle businesses I don't know how there will be any incentive for businesses to employ new workers.
Not to mention the hoops and costs to start a new business. I'll try to find a link to an article I read last week about how much it costs with all the regulations, fees and licenses just to open a friggin nail salon LOL or SMH
"The media has been portraying these problems as a crisis of capitalism, but they have it completely wrong. What we're witnessing is a crisis of socialism. Governments have been making far too many promises which have been based on borrowed money coming mainly from the banks...."
mainstream alarms and for that matter, kwn alarms, need to be held at an arm's length they sell news, so it is in their interests you listen to them, no matter the truth, just that you listen
For the most part I agree, but when it comes to economics the mainstreamers are the last ones to cry the sky is falling, just as they are the last to report rising PM prices. So when they do, it's usually a confirmation of what others have known. I hardly feel comfortable saying mainstream media and validate in the same sentence, but in a few unusual circumstances, such as this, I feel, IMO, in does validate what others have been reporting for years, some decades.
