Interesting how they had pay rises in 38 states...paying more monopoly money to keep the sheeple happy.

In terms of inflation and devaulation of the weak USD they probably had a 'pay loss' even with the pay rise lol.

    Increasing job numbers, my a$5...

    http://www.eutimes.net/2011/03/real-us-unemployment-rate-may-be-22-percent-for-february/

There can be no US recovery whilst they have no proper increase in job numbers. Working at Maccas offering 'fries with that' does not start an economic recovery. Its a bloody service job: it doesnt make or build anything. Nor does it generate any wealth. And there can be no US recovery whilst they pour trillions down the drain fighting 'terror' in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen yadda yadda yadda.... Nor whilst they throw billions at that little nation in the Middle East that thinks its always getting picked on.... All the time whilst they have crumbling infrastructure, poor health services, a corrupt governmental process, tens of millions on food stamps....

And all the while, the Fed is printing currency like there is no tomorrow. Where does it go? Into the stock market! There's the reason for the 'recovery'
The great unwashed are figuring it out ever-so-slowly.

You're just ahead of the game....

    Off to work I go....

Its pretty much what ABS does in Australia as well... they fudge the employment numbers to include people who 'barely work' and remove the people 'who arent really looking for work' and give us some really low number.

    Lies; damned lies; statistics.

One of the good statistic should be focused on and can not be manipulated at all is the number of full time workers divided by the population of the country.

Point of order; The ABS doesn't manipulate the figures...it's the govt. reports quoting ABS figures that are where the manipulation occurs.

Everything you want to know is available on the ABS website in black and white. You'd be astounded how using those figures they can present a 'dog' as a 'cat'.

It's true that our gov reporting is full of manipulation but the ABS isn't entirely innocent either.

From April 1986, the definition of employed persons was changed to include persons who worked without pay between 1 and 14 hours per week in a family business or on a farm (i.e. contributing family workers).

1 hour work a week is counted as employed...

    Population of oz: 22,586,901
    Employed: 11 448.5 ('000s)
    Unemployed: 594.7 ('000s)

Where are all the rest? They can't all be elderly or kids.

Did ABS somehow change the definition of "Being in the workforce" ?

    Statistics...

    That means

    50.68% employed in Australia
    and 44.97% in the USA

    USA
    Population of oz: 311 202.367
    Employed: 139 970.183

The USA needs over 43 millon jobs to catch up with Australa
