Hi there Was wondering if any one has bought coins/rounds through "kingssilverartbars" on Ebay. Also can someone please verify if this round is solid silver or plated. Reverse : "Saturday night tombstone" http://www.ebay.com/itm/O-K-CORRAL-...pt=US_Bullion_Bars_Rounds&hash=item2336968038 I have one in my collection but am unsure of its authenticity. Kind regards Kezza
it claims to be solid Silver and is marked .999 so... However why on earth would you pay the price for it? You can get some MUCH more recognized silver for a much lower price, I personally would not pay more than a few % above spot on that.. Unless it's part of some collection or rare coin that I'm just simply unaware of... I'm no expert and don't claim to be, but this round would not be in my collection at that price unless there is something more to learn about it that I don't know.
Depending on where you are.. you could take it to your nearest bullion dealer and get them to XRF test it.. That will tell you if it is really silver.. I quite like the coin.. looks good, nice picture good detail.. saying that, i wouldn't buy one.. Part of a series? ? maybe..
I purchased this a while ago when i first started collecting Coins. I probably paid a bit too much for it but I liked the detail in this coin. Yes, it claims to be solid silver but haven't seen this coin anywhere else thus the Verification of authentication.
Well there are two on ebay right now. And one that sold in Dec. And I found this http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/troy-oz-999-silver-ok-corral-big-nose-160601346
~Same same but different~ The coin on Worthpoint site seems to be different to my one. The words "BIG NOSE KATE" on the saloon dancers side is different compared to mine. The reverse side is the exact same as the "BIG NOSE KATE" coin though with the cowboys shooting etc. It has 999 fine silver on it (yes) but my coin/round (shown above) reads "Saturday night in tombstone"... Maybe it is part of a set? or maybe it is a fake? i would really love to know. I could take it to a coin shop and have it Authenticated, but i thought i would ask the forum before spending more money on a already costly coin. Thanks for your time and research on this piece and hopefully a answer will arise soon.
Looks good but I guess without testing you will never know that's why I always suggest buying from your local silver dealer. Goldstackers Melbourne are fantastic.
I am a sure that it is not sterling silver with the 999 fine silver written on it. maybe it is just plated? will have to take it over to my local coin dealer and get it checked out. Thanks for the thought
