Shouldn't post and drink...lol. I ask the guy to deal outside ebay, and meet halfway in regards to ebay fees. Won't budge
But ask yourself..... ....why would he be willing to sell it on ebay for $4600 minus fees, when he can catch the train to the city (Melb) and get $4500 cash at W Davis ???
Here's something of an anti-bargain as far as I can see (no photo): http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Krugerra...80877838913?pt=AU_Bullion&hash=item2a1d28ca41 ...even slabbed it would have to be some serious numismatic special to justify the price IMO - they have ten.
...or how about this beauty http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/bris...d-jubilee-2012-2oz-gold-proof-coin/1012093654 ... you could probably knock him down to a million
Too bad I don't put much energy into buying from eBay. Its the fake sellers' roaming nest. I'd rather buy from a bank or a trusted PM seller.
If you buy diligently (ie not at 1am after a few beers), then its not too bad. Remember theres always the paypal protection to fall back on. And avoid anything with mills, tibetan silver, german silver, gold filled, gold flakes etc as they arent worth a pinch of poop
