    Whats the perfect dumby safe?

    Few 1oz clad bars/coins?

CZ crystals (diamond knockoffs) most theifs can't tell the difference plus will have no time when stealing stuff.

    Some random older coins etc.

Looking about getting myself one put together to hopefully distract a thief which I hopefully will never have.

Wouldn't recommend it. If they're brazen enough to come into your home in the first place, imagine how turtled off they'd be to find out they stole fake stuff... They'd be back to thrash your place and possibly threaten you or your family. Not worth the risk in my opinion.

    *dummy ;)

Money better spent storing them off-site, or installing IP security cam .

+1 for you, great point. Thanks House you know how to actually make a post unlike the other 1-3 word posts that give no explanation backing up their beliefs. Great contributor!

like house said. giving them fakes tells them there is something good that you are hiding, so good that you went to the trouble to make fools of them. they'll be back to find the good stuff.

If you did a search you'd find about 5 past threads asking the same question and getting the same answer.

Being a smart ass isn't helpful either.
Gosh this forum is going down hill, you'd think people would be more friendly here.

Yeah I just store mine in a SDB. Store off site or in a safe. Dummy safe is just a waste of silver and time.

yeah it's gone downhill in the month since you've joined

criticizing all the other posters doesn't really help either

House said it and said it well

Here's 2 I've posted previously if you want the same in different words:

Distracting thieves doesn't generally work into your advantage. Better to not attract them in the first place. And for an 'in case', one method is to make it harder/riskier/more timeconsuming to search/find. Give them work. Thieves are lazy butts. That's why they steal. Work makes them pass along / leave. :p
