No doubt we need more 457 visa approvals to fill the "skills gap".......

Entitlements to single mothers that have 5 kids by 5 different men, asylum seekers that never pay a cent in tax their whole life, and Muslims with 10 kids all getting the dole and working on the side, should be the first lot of entitlements to be cut. They all work the system to their advantage at the expense of taxpayers.

Genuine need sure, get some limited assistance but not in the cases above.

Leave hard working middle class families and the (very) few benefits they are getting alone. They are sick of subsidising people that never plan to work, hate this country, its people, , history and traditions.

That is why i vote Christian Democrat and Liberal.

Single mums, asylum seekers, and Muslims? :|
Your perspective of welfare recipients is a little bent IMO.

I know more rorters of welfare that are well-off, born and bred Australian - with ingrained entitlement mentality.

Do tell what sort of welfare they are rorting.

Having worked and lived all over western Sydney in areas of "disadvantage" i can tell you the above groups are rorting the system to their advantage. Their numbers are huge compared to your alleged middle class rorters up in northern nsw.

Id love to know your reasoning behind this. Why are middle class families entitled to a cent of my tax? The government provides education for said families kids, healthcare and all the necessary infrastructure they need to live their life (as it should); Why should they get any thing else? Money for having kids, money when they lose their jobs, money when they retire etc. Nobody over the age of 25 should get a cent from the government, no matter what. As there is no excuse not to be on your own feet by that age. End the pension!

Edit - Im kinda joking about the pension but if it is still around in 20 years time I will be a very disgruntled taxpayer :p

Things are getting better by the day job wise in the NT. (for now). Perhaps those who can't find jobs should consider relocating??

Until the schools start turning out kids that actually want to learn a skill, can string a legible sentence together and do some basic trig then yes, you're probably right.

Like I said to wrcd , please outline what extra welfare benefits, middle class families get, that others are not getting?

Baby bonus? Open to all. Pension? not eligible or at very best small part pension.

    What else?

Either cut all benefits entirely or stop whinging about middle class welfare when there really isn't any.

They rort everything. They are experts at it, and it's generational.
FFS, Byron Bay and Nimbin are in our region!

Then this: Byron Bay median house price = $750,000. Median rent = $600 per week.http://www.realestateview.com.au/propertydata/median-prices/nsw/byron+bay/
    Go figure.

Average rent is $600 per week and 20% of adults "survive" on the dole?! Riiiiight.

Like I said there are far more bludgers and rorters in western Sydney (400k according to the article you quote) than were you live. Most of this number is made up of the groups I mentioned.

They are the real drain on the pockets of the middle class.

Btw you or Ben please outline what "extras"the middle class are getting, that no one else does.

And to conclude all the boomers on this forum rorted far more from the govt in their lifetime than any generation will ever see again. How about they start paying it back first.

The gen X middle class is carrying the burden and absolute mess of the rotten generation before us as well as for the other bludgers I mentioned above.

Thanks Trew. That was the point I was trying to make.
While some like to point the finger at the stereotypes, I know many well-off white Australians (some even living in water-front homes) who claim all sorts of welfare benefits.

I hate to say it but I think BYRON might actually be the pseudonym of my ex wife. Thought patterns are the same. Scary shit.

No of course not but surely if Byron is making statements like "Most of this number is made up of the groups I mentioned. "
surely he is basing that on some stats he has seen and not just his own completely biased personal opinions ..... then again.......
