I'm cashing some out as I am mining it to diversify a bit in the case that DOGE drops low. Trying to keep a minimum of 25k DOGE though.
I see some of you have little trust in Doge, but there's also a possibility that when Bitcoin and Litecoin crash, Dogecoin will rise. It's cheap and many could escape into it... As mining difficulty increases, I expect higher prices. eBay sellers have already increased their Dogecoin prices. It's been getting more expensive. Volatility is there, but while BTC and LTC are slipping down, DOGE always managed to recover.
More appropriate - "I'm gettin' the hel outta DOGE CITY while the goin's good!" But the goin ain't so good no more. If Doge drops to peanut levels, I may buy a large batch and just sit on them. But let's not forget that this is a joke coin and there's no reason for people to stick with this and build up its market cap. Look what happened to Quark - the crypto market is fickle.
Then won't all alt currencies die and only bitcoin will survive ? Why should litecoin be worth anything if there is bitcoin ?
It's still the most profitable to mine, so that's what I am doing. Keeping some DOGE on Cryptsy, and just converting the rest into Litecoin.
Cryptos need a certain critical mass and sustain that over a period of time, gaining in value. Litecoin has been the silver to Bitcoin's gold for only about 5 months but yes, Bitcoin has been altcurrency gold for at least 18 months. If more money pours into these markets, we may get permanent cryptos that fulfil the roles of silver and copper (Litecoin looks to be taking the silver mantle), but at the moment it's all open. I don't see it as altcoins dying, I see it as waiting to see which ones are going to take root and establish themselves.
Well that's one possible scenario another is that all cryptos will eventually provide the same functionality and they will all trend towards the same market caps - perhaps all down, including bitcoin Not right now but once bitcoin has no discernible advantage over other cryptos then there is no reason it should be gold and the others silver they might all be iron and aluminum - useful for doing stuff but not particularly rare Even now I don't see any real difference between litecoin and dogecoin in terms of functionality - only history dogecoin might be a copy of litecoin that started as a joke, but litecoin was just a copy of bitcoin with a different hash algorithm Perhaps that's my perception simply because I'm a latecomer
I have 7000 KH/s mining Leaf and my renaming 13000 KH/s still mining DOGE I did sell all my DOGE coins though, I am currently buying shares in cryptsy with my mining profits.
Yeah, tempting to get rid of the rest of my DOGE, looks like it'll just trend down. And shares in Cryptsy? Do tell.
Less transactions made during the last 24h with DOGE. It's half the BTC transactions. Mining is more difficult and they placed that first DOGE ATM, but it's still just in the 0.0013 $ area.
https://cryptostocks.com/securities/57 current price 0.2 BTC / share they pay dividends weekly they sold off some shares which pay a set % of the profit weekly to help pay for their compliance to get USD $$ trading up and running all the details are on the link above. MUltipool recently "floated" as well but pulled the offer and are seeking better / more legal advice, I am waiting for an update here before I buy some multipool shres.
about that but it is a market the price of the share can go up and down. when cryptsy starts fiat trading I expect the share price to go to da moon.,
