    Hi all

Found some 50c coins advertised locally at the weekend. Ended up buying 10 at $12 each. Obviously they were all used, in good condition but not perfect. In terms of sale price and long term liquidity. does it really matter what condition there in as long as there not defaced or anything?

There not my ideal core stacking grade but they were there so I grabbed them :)

    Thanks
    Luke

From your description they sound fine. Swish them around in a bit of (warm) cloudy ammonia for a minute or so. Good as new!

No it doesn't matter. They will trade on this forum for the same bullion value even if they look dirty/old/whatever.

    Good buying!

avoid the brown ones, though its only out of superstition

two other tricks in the lore are baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) or coke - though I'm not sure it this unique to coke or if any carbonated bevvy will do

I haven't cleaned mine, but it might be worth an experiment with beer

    Mine are buy & forget.

    In plastic sheets of 5 & 5

    Stored in plastic time capsule.

Will be worth the same as others when offered for sale.

If you have the time for an experiment, then go for it.

Please post before & after shots.

    See AUSPM for hints.
