In this video I'll show you how to divide this 1-oz silver round into 1/4 ounce pieces using a Chisel and Hammer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlne0vYoj84&feature=player_embedded
Thanx for the video. I don't know. Seems like a lot of work to me. And I can buy 1/4 or 1/10 ounces without breaking them a part. Definitely not for me.
I just don't get the point of it. If you want fractional silver just buy it that way. 1966 50c pieces, pre-decimal silver coins etc.
I can see why they think it is a good idea, but until people start bartering with silver there is no need to make change from a coin. Plus, who wants a pocket full of sharp cornered metal? I think this harks back to ye olde pirating days when a piece of eight was cut to make smaller denominations, I think we have moved on since then. I have seen them on eBay and though it wasn't a bad gimick and worth getting one for a laugh but if you need a chisel I don't think I will bother. they also have divisible bars which are a more standard rectangle shape and can get divided into 4 smaller rectangles. Still not interested though, I have my Valcambi on the way, that will settle my need for expensive gimicky silver, for a while at least!
What a PIA to do imagine bartering with someone . "yeah ok wait until i get the hammer & chisel i'll get your change "
