How much of this stuff is flooding the market seems more n more each day and people are paying dollars for it if I was a new coin collector I would b so disappointed if I had bought one if these I have researched and learnt heaps This forum has been great to learn these lessons for free. Just looked at probably 70 of these on the net well I suppose buyer beware is very true
Yup it is deceitful selling however people do need to do their own DD most are looking for a bargain, but most hopefully find at some point it is not a bargain at all.
Just wait until the price really rockets...like back in the 80's. I reckon half the fake gold bars on the market are still out there from that period.
I'll put up my hand sheepishly and admit I got caught with something similar as a noob. I actually got my money back, fortunately, but kept some as a reminder of my 'education'. I wouldn't mind so much except for the deliberate misleading, and sometimes outright lies...
Thus the real stuff will cost slightly less due to part of the money flowing into mills & German silver and hge gold , making you complicit in the Silver price manipulation. joking :/
I saw the german silver on ebay and thought it was too good to be true so decided to to a quick google. It was easy to find out it wasn't the real deal. And that was how I found this forum. I'm glad I took the few seconds it took to google first. I have been reading about buying silver for months and finally decided to do something about it. Lucky I now have some sweet looking kookas from a dealer mentioned here, and a few round 50c from ebay. I hope to check out the local dealers this weekend. I'm so happy not to have been stung by the fake stuff. I definitely can't afford to waste dollars.
I suppose at least these ones have the give away indicators in the title and any one who does a bit of research can work it out probably more of a worry might b the ones who don't and are truly selling the knockoffs as real Makes good case for buying through trusted sources only.
I hate it when they put a buy now price on it close to the price of the real thing. exposes their motive and depth of their deception. but if they're open about it and if they're selling them for just a couple of bucks, i could care less. who am i to judge their market for toy money.
I suppose they have a decent amount of sales from it or it wouldn't be up there....someones buying it. hopefully not anyone on here
I see someone got stung badly on eBay, a 10 oz ABR bar went for $255 from someone who had zero feedback and only in the description did it say the bar was 100 mill .999, thats got to hurt
I would imagine that the Chinese are going to be faking many of the generic silver rounds in the not to distant future. They have faked the US Morgan and Peace dollars so well that It is difficult to tell them from the real deal....so much so that even some of the secondary sellers to not realize they are selling fakes....I now stay away from those two particular coins. People selling "German Silver" should be fed their own testicles.
I have seen a few coins (some even called "Kangaroos") that are stamped: 999 Silver Layered .... Buyer beware. WS
