    Decadence, a word I wallow in. Best said slowly.

    Many years ago at a self actualising course, the group was asked to right down things from their past that they had enjoyed and try to make them their pillars going forward. I wrote:

    As a stacker, the paper of choice would have to be fiat. Unfortunately Australian $100 bills are plastic so they'd probably melt or give off toxic fumes.

    Between 1967 and 1969 I hung with three mates. On average, each one of us contributed an ounce of dope every four days. In those days an ounce of dope was the same price as an ounce of gold. Had we bought gold we would each have 365, times 3, divided by 4, = 274 ounces of gold, or 8 1/2 kilos, or $450,000. Plus our sanity.

    I did see the errors of my way and gave up dope to become an alcoholic.

    Well worth a watch.
    Just a quibble, but when he talked about how prosperous the French are despite introduction of the 35 hour week the datedness shows. Only made back in 2011 but we've since had the European sovereign debt crisis and the youth unemployment come into focus
