How much do dealers pay to NGC for grading and encapsulation? A couple of bucks at most? How else do they sell graded NGC encapsulated coins for $6-$7 including shipping. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2008-P-PRES...87?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item3a71029a0f http://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-P-PRES...64?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item53ebb9612c
Are those coins in old NGC holders, as it says 'Numismatic Guaranty Corporation' on the front, rather than just 'NGC' and the hologram on the back looks wrong to me? And yes, it does make you wonder how they can encapsulate a $1 coin, sell it for $6 and still make a profit?
I wouldn't think any older that 2008 at least! http://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/CertResults.aspx?CertNumber=3138984-213
I had one dealer tell me his best price break is when he sends in at least 500 items for grading... and he's not a big dealer.
yep ,they treat everyone different, but unless you are a modern coin mart ,or make bulk submissions of 500 coins of the same type , you get the same 10% discount as any elite member, I dont know of anyone that gets a discount from NCS ,most big dealers never use the service
