This was by far the most difficult stone I've cut. A 10.5 carat Lemon Quartz from Brazil in the style of a Barion Cut. Next time I will be using a digital caliper and make sure I spend less time grinding by doing a better preform. With a few hiccups along the way, this stone turned up pretty good in the end. From what I have read, a Square Barion cut is not for a novice and has a quite a high difficulty factor. All facets have a perfect polish, and compared to many stones I see selling in Jewellers I'm beginning to see that cutting own gems are of better quality.
