    Hi all,

I have been busy looking into the mechanics of SMSF and have decided its the way to go.
About to investigate my current super accounts which are both through comsuper.
Has anyone dealt with them (Milsuper & PSS) and provide any tips. Seeing that they are Federal Government funds, I'm not anticipating a easy release.

    Thanks

its been discussed before the money in all government funds is notional only, you cannot access it in any way shape or form until you are at retirement age, full stop end of.

    Thanks for the replies.

I suppose the only good thing then is that I'm no longer a govt. employee. Time to start again

Have a look on your statements, the total amount is divided into two mains parts employer benefit(employer contributions) and member benefit (your contributions)

employer contributions are unfunded (except for a small part whichI cant remember what its called) and you have no chance of touching until retirement age as hiho mentioned

Good news is you can roll over member contributions.
