Gday all Jan 2014 SGB will release 2 new rounds. The first one will be the 3rd round in The series of dissent ' too big to fail ' which we put pics up of in the new year. Secondly I would like to introduce you to ' Ra ' the Egyptian sun god, another project we have had on the go. The ancient Egyptians had another name for the phoenix: Bennu, aka "He who came into being by himself". The myth goes that the bird created itself from a burning holy tree. The Bennu is supposed to be the soul of the Egyptian Sun God called Ra. The Egyptian phoenix looked like a heron. We however have taken a more traditional looking phoenix reaching out too embrace the sun god Ra. Total Mintage 8888. 8800 Bullion rounds. Extremely limited proof of 88 units. Enjoy and have a happy new year! [imgz=http://forums.silverstackers.com/uploads/3180_ra_artwork.jpg][/imgz] Edit to add, image is polished on frosted background.
Sorry for the quality of image from the scanner, professional pics will be done soon, should give you an idea tho.
Thank you. Some very nice feedback coming thru for this round, a bit different from our nasty dissent rounds! 88 proofs are pretty much all pre - sold. Wont be many around at all. 8800 Bullion rounds will be available to order in a few weeks. Is a very simple, elegant and beautiful design, am very happy with it. The boss (wife) also approves, she dont like the dissent rounds lol.
All proof versions have sold out, no more left. Our Distributors will have a handful each so people interested in the proof version will have to book one in with them.
We also have a fairy penguin coming out. Natives to the southern coastline of Australia, with Phillip island being a popular tourist attraction for seeing them. Aimed more towards the tourist souvenir market we hope to have them in shops across South Gippsland and the Bass coast. Sample should arrive very soon so will take a pic. Its actually an SGB/SBA joint project. SBA designed the art.
We are going to run the 'Ra' proofs next week. They will then have the COA/coin number engraved on them, the engraving looks sensational, nice and deep more like a stamp, no metal loss. They come in a box with a COA - (at the local printer right now) The outer sleeve will also have the number on it. sample pic of box.
