    Hi Guys and Girls,

In the same vein as their weightier kilo cousins, this thread is about the various cast & collectable 500 gram (half kilo) silver bars produced in Australia.
Lying somewhere between the highly liquid 10oz and the generally lower premium kg bars, the 500g weight doesn't seem to sell as well from the dealers (IMO), however, that leads to a lower mintage in the secondhand marketplace, and potentially rarer bars for those that collect them years after production stops.
Here are a couple of bars to start off:

For reference: Kilo collectable bars thread here: http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-65441-collectable-vintage-australian-kilo-silver-bars.html

Geomin Christmas 1977 (dual stamped BS ) bar
Serial Number AG 925. Lovely condition for its age, with cooling rings, not sure how many of these bars would have survived the melting pots of the 1980's boom. Some more information on these (and other) Geomin bars can be found here.

If anyone knows the mintage of these, I'd love to know.

Made by S. R. Mitchell & Co. Pty Ltd. Not sure of Age.
In 1911 Stanley Robert Mitchell set up his own business out of australia as a gold-assayer.
From the mid-1920s S. R. Mitchell & Co. Pty Ltd operated as a major refiner of precious metals.

Suspect these bars are from the 1980s, the State Bank of Victoria commissioned these bars. Below is a 500g Think they came in a 1kg & 250g size as well.

Not sure the age of these Gold Bullion Australia bars. Suspect they are not old.

These SBA bars are not to old, nice to look at, and not often seen. Not vintage, but a nice clean bar. Not sure if still in production.

Your turn to add some pics :
