Possibly only of interest to Europeans -

Does anyone know why there is another supplier linked to CoinInvestDirect.com ?
Looking at CID today there is a linked box for a company called Silver-to-go-com sharing the same web platform and same T's & C's but prices are significantly different.
For example the Canadian Falcon from CID was priced at 21.60 but 19.37 from STG comparing very favourably with Aurinum at 19.87.
Absolutely no idea what is the rationale behind this new supplier and would welcome feedback from anyone in Europe who has placed orders.
Maybe it is a spin-off from CID but bearing in mind the turnover of CID I cannot see why they would bother.

Now that is interesting, and very cheap indeed.

I'm looking to buy 20-30 oz next week, I might be swayed their way.

    Good find!!!

Have heard some of these clone sites can be dodgy though, so will use credit card.

I don't think there is a risk with this new site as it appears to be heavily linked with CID.
If in doubt however I can recommend Aurinum as I have used them a lot.

In the UK a lot of people lost a lot of money recently.

Somebody cloned a trusted bullion site and undercut prices by 10%.

Accepted orders for a few weeks and then did a runner.

The site was basically an exact clone with a different name, just like STG.

I may drop a small order and see what happens.

I'll have a look at Aurinum tonight, thanks.

FYI - I just telephoned CoinInvestDirect in London ( as an exisiting customer ) and asked them about this new operation called silver-to-go.
It is genuine with the same owners as CID and the prices shown are what you pay with no added VAT etc.
I will consider giving them a try if they undercut Aurinum.
I will check the sterling prices also because they may provide a better Euro/ sterling exchange rate compared to my bank.

    Legend, good investigating skills.

Looking at their prices, I'll be ordering from them this month.

    Thanks for the confirmation mate.

Just ordered some coins and was shocked by the 22 bank charge to make a payment.
Buying in Euros costs 10 and I had assumed paying in sterling would have been less.
Be careful on small orders - the banks will screw you !!

Including the bank fee and UPS shipping my unit costs worked out at -
    The Falcon 16.64 each
    The 25 year anniversary Maple - 16.69

Comparing with other UK sellers at the same time:
Atkinsons want 19.95 for the Maple 20+ qty; not listing the Falcon right now
BullionbyPost want 27.52 for the Falcon 10+; not listing the Maple 25 years anniv.
Weighton Coin want 21.95 for the Falcon plus shipping so assume approx 1 extra each for 15+

Comparing to CoinInvestDirect the Falcon, now on offer, CID is approx 1.91 more each and for the 25 year anniversary Maple a whopping 2.95 each more expensive.

Looks as if Silver-to-Go has potential for serious stackers in the UK and Europe.
Feel free to share experiences on this forum.

For bank transfers abroad I tend to use transferwise.com. Much cheaper.

    Hope this help.

Surely if they let you pay in sterling, there is no currency charge.

    I'm confused.

Do they ask for payment in euros?

Coin Invest Direct are now just plain Coin Invest, they changed their name a month or so ago also bank accounts and revised their web site so maybe they have been taken over and Silver to Go is part of the same group or a new addition....

Interesting that whilst writing a vat free Philly at Silver to Go is 15.13
But at Coin Invest is 14.12 ex vat

    Hmmmm

    I've used
https://www.currencyfair.com/ for any purchases outside of the UK for the last 2 years and have saved a fortune compared to the banks. Not only do you pay a tiny fee on any amount of foreign currency eg 100 or 100,000 the fee is the same 3 or you can also pay the fee in euros or dollars.

You also get currency market rates which are superb ,not some shitty exchange rate like paypal and of course your local UK bank.

With currency fair you can get hold of an intelligent human being within 2 mins on the phone if you have any problems.
They are simply brilliant, by the way I have no connection with them I just like to praise and pass on the names of any companies that give exceptional value and service.

Silver-to-go offer to sell in Euros or Pounds Sterling.
They at least give a favourable exchange rate.
I chose to pay in sterling expecting my bank transfer fee to be reasonable.
Today I checked the terms for Natwest and they are cleary published.
Transferring Euros the standard fee is 10
Transferring ANY OTHER CURRENCY including our own British pounds costs 22
I feel robbed but I could have checked beforehand of course.
However the exchange rate quoted by the bank, as my account would be debited in sterling, was almost 2% worse than STG.
Assuming an order of say 1000 value sent in Euros I would have been charged 10 fee and lost about 18 in a poorer exchange rate, i.e cost of 28
So paying 22 works out marginally less BUT you need to be placing a decent order !

Still confused, if they give you the option to pay in sterling, why is there a currency conversion?

Hi - there is no currency conversion paying in sterling.
There is with my bank ( NatWest ) and more than likely all other UK banks, a "rip-off" fee to send money overseas - even sterling.
It doesn't make sense but this is the fee charged by the bank.
I did check out the online money transfer site transferwise.com and they look pretty efficient and would only charge a fee of 4 for a 1000 transfer.
For future purchases I will use transferwise without hesitation.

    Ah, I see. Thanks buddy.

    Take a look at www.1oz.si

They take sterling PayPal and only charge 2%. Prices are very keen too as far as I can tell.

I have bought through this vendor on eBay and shipping is mega fast.

Thanks - I just looked them up and for comparison FYI -

    1oz.si Peregrine Falcon 23.50 each
    Silver-to-go 19.75 each
Significant difference so worth comparing depending on what you wish to purchase !

Yeah, they are more expensive on some things.

Main thing for me is they have a lot of back-dates which for a collector Like me is great.
