Hi folks, I wonder if some of you come across big coin capsules that would fit bigger Chinese medals, e.g. 80mm, 120mm, etc. I found some sites with 120mm coin capsules, but thickness is a problem, as most are less than 10mm thick. What other alternatives remains besides leaving them in plastic pouches or zip bags? I'm sceptical about materials being used for mint plastic pouches. It might be just a "normal" plastic that might influence bad on medal over years. Is maybe somebody aware of the company that is only slabbing medals but not grading them? Thank you!
I have not found jumbo coin capsules large enough to fit some of the bigger Chinese medals like th 120mm Snake Dance or any of the coins from the same New Century Shanghai Mint Lunar series. .
Perhaps something like this, if you want to admire them often http://www.leuchtturm.com/epages/le...jectPath=/Shops/leuchtturm_eu/Products/350480
Interesting item but if the membranes are made from soft PVC it would be a problem for many coins. Also, I think Stark was looking for a long term storage solution. I wonder if anyone out there makes custom capsules for extra large medals? .
