Is there a coin or bar that you dream of holding in your arms, something that you would love and make you the envy of other collectors?

Well share it here with everyone.

Well where do I start, it involves a 3 hot blonde models and...... oh you mean metal dreams!

Might be small time for some but I am a simple chap - I want to hold 1kg of pamp gold that I own. Nothing fancy, nothing rare :)

So it sounds daft but it is an achievable goal.

I have made the drawings for an iron bound wooden treasure chest. Domed lid, large clasps, very authentic looking. I have enough pre decimal to fill it but what I would really like to do is fill it with 8 reales (pieces of eight), gold dubloons and silver goblets, maybe even some pikey gold bracelets.

I have just ordered a book, "The Practical Book of Cobs' which is apparently the book to get on the subject, once I have digested that I am going to start turning some of my predec junk into some numismatic junk. I will lose out on the silver content but the price of cobs is less volatile anyway so if silver does collapse at least half of my stack will be protected.

The predec has doubled in value so it will be like buying the Cob coins at half price because they haven't really gone up in price. Maybe some of the gold ones have but I will soon find out.

That is my dream but I know that once I get a decent grade piece of eight I will not want it getting scratched so my treasure chest will be full of oversized airtites! Fortunately you can get the copper cob coins at a fairly decent price.

Other than the old pirate coins I have no dreams left to fulfil, I kind of buy on impulse so generally if I want something I can justify it to myself and rationalise the purchase pretty easily.

It's part of the SHTF fantasy "Come on mate! Sell it to me for spot! It's only a penny!"

Yeah, if you're going to spend money on a penny, it's worth spending BIG to get the best quality one :)

Unc Penny in 1985 was worth ~$75k ... now worth ~$325k = 4.3x price increase
    Unc 1923 halfpenny in 1985 was worth ~$6k ... now worth ~$65k = 10.8x price increase

Which do you think my money is on. :)

Not a coin or a bar but a gold and a silver moulded bull like the one on wall street only 150mm not 2m high.

I know where you can get a paper rhino? http://www.bandmstore.com.au/products/cardboard-safari

As for me, saw some Tintin and Harry Potter silver coins on the net recently and had a nerdgasm :p

I also find this kids' set strangely compelling, although the unicorn kinda little slutty: http://www.perthmint.com.au/catalogue/young-collectors-2011-mythical-creatures-coin-collection.aspx

Realistically I want a st. Gaudens double eagle in one hand and a mexican 50 peso in the other. But dreamin, kilo gold bar, JM or Pamp but it really doesn't matter.
