The promotional tag says we can copy any bullion or collectible items, gold, silver, whatever fakes you want. Provide a sample & we will copy it !

Surely the Chinese Govt must covertly be sponsoring this kind of activity if it's allowed to be so openly promoted on one of the world's biggest trade sites. Incidentally it's also Chinese owned.

LOL and if you do send that rare collectible to be copied the market will be flooded with fakes (they won't stop at " your" copy) and suddenly the market drops.

 

Of course its Chinese Govt owned, arent all means of production in a communist state govt owned ?

There was a recent SBS Documentary on Chinese fakes that showed them making artificial eggs. I'm not kidding, Chicken eggs... for eating!!!

While it does not surprise me, it scare the you know what out of me. Who ever knows what really happens.

I don't get the Chinese ? They seem to have become completely shameless, untrustworthy. That counters a history of a productive yet humble & honest society. Is that because the capito/communist mantra is to become the most powerful nation on Earth at any cost ?

 

Just thinking out aloud..I haven't thought this fully through, but;

I don't think it's a cultural change, I think it's been like that for a while. Whenever populations become crowded (Think Europe in the 17 & 1800's) life becomes 'cheap'. I think it's OUR perceptions that are changing as China opens up to the free market and more imfomation about the country is getting out. That's why the Chinese (Govt) are having such a hard time dealing with the outrage... because to them it's nothing new...it's always been like that.

Don't get me wrong though...the Chinese people don't like being cheated any less than anyone else (remember they suffered the most from the melamine milk poisoning incidents)

Intellectual property is complex.

If you observe someone else solve a problem that brings them benefits, efficiencies, and profits and you can replicate the solution to achieve the same; then do you owe the first person something?

It's a dilemma and the West has decided that the first peron deserves either a time period of exclusivity, or a system of royalties or payments that compensates for any copying of ideas.

In the East, its basically free for all. Once there is an idea, the competition becomes who can produce the best implementation.
