The People's Bank of China on Thursday said it would issue gold and silver commemorative coins celebrating the Ukrainian-born, Dalian-bred
vessel, recently christened the Liaoning. The coins range in face value from a modest 10 yuan for a silver piece depicting the ship's flight deck to a 2,000 yuan gold keepsake a heady sum for a central bank that won't print anything bigger than a 100-yuan bill featuring a fighter just after takeoff.

Maybe one of the Panda collectors want to pick up a few the next time they're in China?

On a unrelated note, the news footage of the Su-35 taking off has generated another internet meme.
