Just wondering which form is the cheapest and where to get it if you're buying from AU?

Outside of a group buy is there any way to get 1/2oz coins/rounds? Do they even make 1/2oz bars? I'm just curious mostly, thinking a few 1/2oz rounds might make trading/bartering a bit easier (kind of the opposite to scrapping 1c/2c pieces)

A 10oz bar/coin isn't a lot of good for trade unless you're buying high value items.

Some might get upset if they see half a 1oz dragon being used in a trade.

    Hi Whitty,

    Good thinking!

I think for the purpose of trading its good to have a couple of spare small denomination generic items in you stack. This way you can have more flexibility to tailor negotiations for dis-similar products. For instance you could negotiate a trade of a generic 10z plus generic 1oz bar for a higher premium 10oz bar/coin.

I notice that some people on this forum also use the round 50c in this fashion. This is a better way imo. The 50c are very fluid and accepted universally.

1/2 oz Scottsdale Half's from Bullion Bourse are the cheapest I've found so far.. 20 (10ozs) for 355 and rising

EDIT: +1 Buffalos - cheapest 1oz rounds. Scottsdale Half's - cheapest 1/2 oz rounds (on BB anyway, but they're super competitive). Cheaper per oz than 1oz rounds for some reason, grab them before they notice! (I do not work for BB, I am just a fan and spend alot of time/$ with them)

At risk of trying to breathe life into a dead'n I have recently looked at some pricing on small rounds. Always check updates of course because prices and exchange rates can change by the minute. That caveat done, as of yesterday:
prices converted to A$ as best I can estimate,
    Apmex 1 oz $34.75
    1/2 oz $17.55 = $35.10 /oz
    1/4 oz $10.4 = $39.6 /oz
    1/10 oz $4.57 = $43.5 / oz

    Bullion Bourse
    10* 1oz Buffs $352.80 =$35.28 /oz
    Scottdales $357.20 =$35.72/oz
    20* 1/2 oz Buffs $360.97 =$36.10 /oz
    Scottsdales $362.86 =$36.28 /oz

My guess is you would need a serious order from the US to better BB unless you going into the really small bits, 1/4s or go mad with 1/10s.
I will leave experienced Stackers to comment on this any further.

Is that why they are so slow Octa? Your taking precious time.LOL. I must say I buy a bit from them but have noticed they are pretty unorganized.

I may start looking for other suppliers or just go to the mint for bullion bars from now on.

I'm not sure what degrees these guys have but improved business skills is a must.

Any other dealers similar to B/bourse in Perth?
