I like it probably the last place someone would look. Although a cheap voltage tester would reveal its not hooked up and render it suspicious. Especially if it doesn't match your current receptacles.

Yes because so many theives go around with a voltage tester testing power points and averaging out the receptacles

No, technically. However, I know what you mean. Nonetheless, still not necessarily the case. Context implying, "bargain".

I like some of the witty replies above.
I also like the Power Point 'safe' (i.e. stash spot). Definitely one to get, purely for the hiding spot. Even better would be to make one yourself (if you are competent enough + have tools).

It would be safe to say (no pun intended) that you could use the Power Point 'safe' as a start for other intuitive and innovative ideas around the home/household/dwelling.

What crook carries around a darn Multimeter?
Paint does wonders, and I am assuming the Power Point does come in various flavours.

I'm sure they do not, however if these became a popular item thieves would be the first to catch on and just because you're a thieving bastard doesn't mean you're stupid.
And considering the ground points in Diablos posted picture are upside down and the cover screw doesn't match the casing it already looks suspect.

^^^ No doubt, if the 'safe' becomes popular crooks will look out for 'em. Same as a Mona Lisa print hanging on a wall.

After seeing these pictures if I was a thief I'd be headed to home depot for a voltage tester to go with my ski mask, shotgun, duct tape, hacksaw, bolt cutters and lock pick set.

What is it with bolt cutters and safes? Obviously, they are used as an intimidation tool (and in some cases actually used to cut off toes). Why not good ol tin snips?

Or... you find the nearest appliance, eg hairdryer, toaster, and plug it in and see if it works?

As with anything, if it becomes 'popular' it's pointless (no pun intended) for hiding stuff.
