I just got a new scale and I remember people were asking for weights of certicards. The scales is a cheapy of ebay and kinda naff but seems to be reasonably close (I'll see if I can get a better one and update these results in future) I have a few more specimens arriving in the future I'll update this post with more weights then All non-scratch plastic film was removed from the cards before weighing. 1 troy oz = 31.1034768 gm 0.5 troy oz = 15.5517384 gm I tested it with a few coins to get reference weigts first: 1ozt 2011 platypus: 31.17gm 1ozt 2011 philharmonica: 31.29gm 0.5ozt 2011 roo: 15.59gm 0.5ozt 2011 rabbit: 15.60gm On to the measuring: PM AU 1ozt certicard: 38.44gm - 38.45gm PM AU 10gm certicard: 17.25gm - 17.33gm PM AU 5gm certicard: 12.03gm - 12.18gm PAMP AU 1gm certicard: 6.06gm - 6.19gm PAMP AG 1ozt certicard: 36.32gm - 36.56gm PAMP PD 1ozt certicard 36.24gm - 36.27gm
Lox could you weigh something with a known weight on your scale such as a kook or lunar, etc, I dunno how expensive your scale is but the one I have is so cheap I feel that I need to provide a baseline, especially because we're measuring to .01gm
Reference Weight: 1ozt 2010 Philharmoniker: 31.27g - 31.28g Scales: Tanita 1579 Weights: PAMP 10g Full: 15.37g PAMP 10g Empty: 5.39g It is also relevant however when measuring to this accuracy to know if the additional protective film is still on the CertiCard or not. With these measurements the film is still on, however it is much thinner and actually hard to tell if it is on a PAMP or not, compared to the Perth Mint CertiCards.
Pulled the film off my pm cards for my measurements, weighed the films ~0.38gm it actually makes a difference
