So I wanted to buy a couple of sovereigns to cash in on these crazy bargain prices (just about to go on holidays to Paris, so can't buy a full ounce coin - that's eating into my boulangerie funds!!!) Nowhere has bullion sovereigns in stock. A few numismatic sovs at one place, but nowhere near bullion prices. I.S. Wright, W. Davis & Son, Universal Coin Co, Golddiggers, Gold Bullion Australia (I wasn't even willing to contact Downies, their bullion price is always ridiculously expensive) - none of these places have any sovs in stock. Or at least that's what they're saying over the phone... I understand they would want to cease selling when they've paid more than this for their stock, but very very frustrating.
I have Sovereigns but I won't sell. If you have silver bars to swap I am offering them at the current gold/silver ratio Cheers
24 hours too late Everybody got cleaned out yesterday morning And WHY did you even bother with the Greek car-salesman I'll part with mine that I bought yesterday , shouldn't have bought it Got bill to pay
Too true... That's what comes of having a joint bank account and having to run it past the better half first PM sent.
Yesterday Universal Coin said that they had suspended all sales everything I could see in the cabinet was not for sale
That's what I was talking about! They won't sell anything, they will tell you they don't have, but I'm sure most of them do! They have a bucket load, just that they aren't selling!
Well, I am a dealer and I just stated I have Sovereigns in stock but it's only for trading for silver. Not prepared to sell something I can't replace as none of my suppliers will sell anything to me. I always go shopping on Wednesday in the CBD and today's grand haul was $450 worth of silver and gold. I think one of my suppliers took pity on me and probably sold them to me at a loss
Well they do have lots of numi coins so are a coin dealer, but they are also a bullion dealer - like many other coin shops Their website certainly has a bullion dealer looking live price list! http://www.universalcoinco.com.au/live-price-list
Let's not forget about "bullion coins"! And those coins for the sake of investment are in fact such coins... I'm seeing high premiums on investment metal products.
At the moment there might be a supply problem but assume prices stay at these new levels supply will pick up in a couple of weeks as the market shakes out.
