Hello from Ontario, Canada! I enjoy collecting silver and would love to see any pictures of silver nuggets or raw silver ore from australia! Here is a nice one I found last summer. Almost 5 oz's. Looking forward to meeting you all.
We don't have much to show on that front, but have a read of this: http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-22616-silver-nuggets-opinion.html and by looking at http://www.mindat.org/gallery.php?min=3664 you'll come across loads of Australian silver ore examples
Thanks for the replies, most of the silver that i collect comes from Cobalt, Ontario, Canada. Back in 1907 they produced 30 million ounces of silver from the mines in the area. Prospectors and metal detectorists can still go around today and find nice samples left in the mine tailings or pieces of float that were left from the glaciers. Thanks for posting those links, Black_Sun. I have been on minedat.org a fair bit and there are many pieces of high grade silver from my area posted on there. Just last year a person found a 600 lbs. piece of silver sitting in the bush. I have never found anything close to that. One of these days I hope to be one of those people. The other link you posted about the 500 nuggets of silver.. Well.. What a shame.. Enough said. Silver comes in many forms and I love stacking mine the way nature gave them to us all to enjoy.
