Replaces the popular Birds of Prey series. One million mintage, four coin series and the first one looks great. http://agaunews.com/canada-launches...eries-called-canadan-predators-with-a-cougar/ Hope everybody doesn't mind me posting so much from Berlin. I figured you'd want to see the best stuff asap, but if anybody feels we're overdoing it or its ok, please let me know. Source: AgAuNEWS.com
The more the better please, keep it coming! I especially hope you can take some pictures of the re-vamped Chinggis Khan with micro minting.
I like the way you put a picture up and provide links. This part of the forum is for silver coins and you don't fail to deliver. I thank you for your time as I wouldn't have seen many coins if not for the effort you make
White-spotted Cougar coin in the making. Joking aside, it looks very nice....too bad RCM bullion coins have such a high propensity to milk spot. .
Ditto Missing. What do most people ask before buying on eBay, or anywhere for that matter? Does it have....????..........yes, the dreaded white spots. You see, no matter how pretty and awesome, and clean the image looks, if you paid a premium, and that thing gets white spots, sorry to say, bye, bye, premium. And if 1, is highly unlikely that these will develop spots, and 10, highly unlikely...these are about a 1000 (as in off the charts), that they will get spots, stains, and nasty turds on them. Ruining whatever art was apart of the design. Sorry to burst your bubble everyone...if it is 1.79 over spot, I'm buying some. Lol. Oh, and keep in mind 1 million ain't a small number. Lol.
Upon Google search, I see only SD Bullion in the States having these available: http://sdbullion.com/silver/royal-c...m-predator-series/2016-1-oz-silver-cougar-rcm .
That about sums up my sentiments. If RCM isn't going to fix the milk spot problem not sure why collectors would buy this coin. Stackers wouldn't care but they don't like to spend the extra premium.
Yup. Just have to go into buying them knowing 2 things a) the potential for spots is really, really high and b) you won't get the premium back. Would you buy a coin riddled with white spots for 5 or 6 dollars over spot? Didn't think so. A buck over? I buck 1.50, perhaps.
I think it looks great, and would buy some if not for the white spotting concerned. But as far as image and beauty, I think it is one of the better coins produced in the wildlife series. Kudos to the RCM. Now if they can clean up their act with spotting, they may have something.
Ditto, the coin is an excellent design but it's only a spot play if the RCM continues producing bullion coins that are so prone to spotting. .
If I were still collecting this kind of stuff, I'd probably pick up a couple. I seem to have good luck with the RCM radial lines when it comes to being milk-spot-free. Maybe it has to do with the way I store them (in air-tites, in a tube, plus some moisture control), and/or the general environment.. Who knows. Anyway, not a half-bad design for what it is.
I think those lines just make it harder to see the spots. They are still there (at least on mine). Jim
Nope, looked closely as I was going thru my collection of 1-oz'ers recently.. No spots. I wonder if the physical stamping of the flat fields versus the radial lines plays a role -- not just visually, but in actually "smearing" (or the radial lines helping to prevent the smear) of a milk-spot (precursor), which causes them to become larger in size. If that makes sense. Are people still getting huge prominent milk-spots on the newer radial-lines version, like they were with the Wildlife series from a few years ago?
So which is closer to reality? I'd guess the latter.. Source: http://www.providentmetals.com/2016-1-oz-canadian-silver-cougar.html Source: http://www.jmbullion.com/2016-1-oz-canadian-silver-cougar-coin/
