10 ozt gold bars are not o our radar. It is just to much of a pain to liquidate around these parts.. Lots of people can scrape together $1200 odd but if i was selling $12000 it would take 5X as long to move. They are pretty , but not practical for us
Good as collateral on a loan or pawn in many places BUT involves mandatory capital gains tax declarations in many places that have yearly non declarable limits to facilitate selling used cars etc. 50 grams or less Flies under a lot of mandatory sale and purchase registrations etc. at that point where as more than 50 gram may not. All in all therefore less liquid as sterling-nz says. Harder to find someone with a big lump of cash. 1/2 KG is worse again. Same for 5 and 15KG silver bars, heavy chains worth more than 10000 euros etc. There is a sweet spot.
I can still recall how hard it was for a member to sell a 10oz gold bar here. Even when it was for spot. Unless of course you were talking about the 10oz gold 2014 Britannia coin.
