    Hi guys

I picked up this 22ct gold coin today and have never seen it before. I weighs 3.43 grams. Any thoughts?

I think that's a knock-off HGE mini coin - the reverse on the real one (it's a Spanish coin) should have "20 PESATAS" as a denomination. I think the obverse is a fantasy portrait, I can check my world gold coins book tonight.

Anything that doesn't have a money value, or a year etc... Is generally not a currency coin. Exceptions are Sovs, Krugers etc... whihc are bullion coins. However these still have a date. What is left is generally knock offs or tokens/medals some of these can have real metal (Au,Ag) in them but generally they are all just plated. I don't know about this one but my money is on plated fake... Sorry but hopefully not an expensive lesson to learn, and don't worry I think every single one of us has had made similar deals.
