awesome. i mean.. it was probably a gold buyer that brought it for 1/4 of the value. screw the buggers. they loose one bucket. they deserve it. hope they don't catch him.
$2.2m stolen and it takes them 2 months to release the footage?!! He probably left the country the next day. Why do they "deserve" it?
I'm assuming it was one of those gold buyers who pray on the unknowing, and give them 1/4 of spot or less. I know they need to make a margin and they have costs. but really? It's more or less robbery. One day i approached a security guard at a shopping center and reported that someone was basically stealing gold off people. cos they are. and often vulnerable people who could really use it. but they are given $5 a gram or so for 9k, and got offered $19.50 got 999. at the time WD was offering around 19 for 9k good on them for thinking of it. and i guess in the end it is the stupid peoples fault for not googling the price of gold and weighing it, and looking into where to sell it. Just seems a bit wrong to me
Do gold buyers buy flakes? What is the point in having an armoured car if you leave it open and unattended? I would seriously be considering my choice of delivery service, you can expect a percentage of the general public to be unscrupulous and opportunistic so if you were going to be transporting that amount of product I would expect a few extra guards. I would not like to be that guy! Now anyone who recognises him knows he has a ton of gold, I would expect his life to get a lot harder, people wanting to steal it, extort it or collect the reward. He would basically have to move to a country without the internet in order to have a quiet life, that's if he can leave the country carrying it all.
well, nope, i don't know why i assumed the buckets were full of scrap i should have read the words, not just looked at the pretty pictures lol
Shame, I have a small glass vial of flakes I panned in New Zealand, no idea what I am going to do with them, maybe go back for the next decade on holidays to get enough to make a small ring
They don't "prey" on the unknown. Nobody's making the seller remain ignorant, no excuse when the internet exists. It's convenient for them and they get lots of cash for something they don't value. Nobody's making them sell it. What gold buyer buys for 1/4 of spot?!! If it's so profitable why don't you set up a gold buyers and offer 1/2 spot? That way both parties win
the one that was in the shopping center that was buying 9k for 5 bucks a gram when spot was around 19 ish. close enough to 1/4 I have thought about it, offering people a fairer, yet still profitable amount. but having the cash to front it.
He will get away with it as he is stuck in ground hog day. Pity he was only offered $300 for all of it from the second hand gold shop. Second hand is always worth way less. No amount of deja vu will change the barbaric relic can of glitter being worth more than $300.
