Hi guys. How do you easiest see the difference between BU and proof kookaburra 1 kilo coins? Any easy way to check this?
BU and proof are all the same regardless of the coin size With proof the kook is frosted and the background is mirror BU is the opposite - background is frosted and kook is shiny
Also, the reverse on the proof lags the reverse of the BU by 1 year. Here is a 1996 BU kilo... Here is the 1996 Proof kilo ( In a set, on the left ) .....same year as the BU above...1996....but its reverse is from the 1997 BU kookaburra. Same with the 10oz and 1oz as well.... Here is a proof 2003 and the BU 2003 The BU collection to see the reverse year compared to the proofs.....
