There's only 300,000 Icelanders. Balance that against Bank of America selling packaged mortgage defaults to the highest bidder to sell, land bank or rent to the people that defaulted on their mortgage in the first place. If debts are forgiven what really happens? The figures on the banks computer screens get adjusted since they were fabricated out of thin air to begin with. Look into money mechanics to fully understand how banks work. So in other words its absolutely no loss to them at all.

Thanks Au, but I take any news stories about natural phenomena with a grain of salt. From both sides. How do scientists accurately determine that the solar activity, the fish kills, the increasing volcanic activity etc is not part of a natural cycle that has been occurring over millions of years. Just more alarmist reporting. I find that if I don't read the news I'm no better or worse off.

Quite true actually. When in TV mode, I prefer the History channel. It's like watching the news but without the stress.
