This antiquing process doesn't seem to be standardised. Is that why initial reactions to the coins were mixed?

As with mine: #1xx range is silver, #12xx range is black. Somewhere between those ranges was a run of damaged, chipped coins.
This is a great looking coin, so what if each coin has slightly different colour - doesn't it make the coin more interesting, also if you don't like what The Perth Mint is producing don't buy.
