Mt. Gox started as Magic: The Gathering Online Exchange for playing cards.. why not SilverStackers as the largest Bitcoin forum?

Oh, well, they're Russian, so inherently dodgy (no offence), but I've had some LTC in there for yonks and it's never been touched...
BTC-E: They take a fee on trades. It is O.2% currently. The interface is quite user friendly, IMO. I only do the basics though. I'm not sure how to set bidding prices like Prospector is doing (I'm not sure where Prospector does that). I'm not even sure if that can be done on BTC-E?. I've had no problems at BTC-E and I've been there since around March/April 2013. Trading the various currencies is simple enough on BTC-E. USD/Russian dollar/Euro/BTC/LTC/NMC etc.... ** I basically sent BTC's to my BTC-E Bitcoin address. I have purchased Bitcoins via vendors at Localbitcoins.com . It is probably much cheaper to buy at the exchanges but I've never gotten around to it!. I have not used Mt. Gox or other exchanges. Jump in, grab some Bitcoins + Litecoins...just know you've entered the wild west of currencies and things can get rocky...
They make you wait 3 days after BTC->LTC transfer, before you can get LTC out of their system. They don't want you to use them, and then abuse them
The 3-day limit is for new accounts, so once your account is older than 3 days, you shouldn't have a delay.
The blockchain is progressing but its progressing so slow it's not advancing in time, should I wait a couple day to see if it catches up or wipe it and install from scratch? Bit confused how to install from scratch though now I have encrypted the wallet as there is no longer a wallet.dat file to backup?
