Does anyone have any idea what can cause huge amounts of stale shares?

I left my rig on last night mining CHN, at work now and can't remember the pool name (not a P2Pool one, had to register) and I got about 50% stale shares, and after a restart it seemed to be getting similar amounts when I left this morning.

Tried some P2Pool CHN mining for about 4/5 hours and never got any shares paid out either.

Did you test it at the wall?

Some will allow you to change values in software but it does nothing at the wall.

    Yep.

Stales are rampant because of the hugely quick block times.

I'm back mining Feathercoin now - it got put on BTC-e.

I can't believe such a simple fork has gone through the roof.

Though I'll be creating my own coin fork on the weekend so we'll see.

You;ll have to start getting creative with your cooling when you start putting more cards in, also you should be aiming to run your PSU at 70-80% as that is where it is most efficient.

Make sure you give us the *wink wink* beforehand. We need to be in on your MonkeyCoins early on.

PS. If anyone wants to sell some of their LTC and diversify into some of my red CNC (ChinaCoin), PM me!

Going rate seems to be 50 CNC for 1 LTC.

If you want to mine CNC yourself, I have had good results at the Altcoin.pw pool: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=192821.0

What do you guys think will happen to litecoins price when the gpu mining on bitcoin is useless when ASIC's are rolled out and they all move to litecoin and mt gox starts accepting litecoin?

Has to go up a fair bit I presume over time?

My opinion is LTC on mtgox can only be positive for the coin.

Opinions are divided over at bitcointalk forum.

I think a lot of the GPU power that had gone from mining BTC to LTC has been temporarily diverted to these new alt coins (FTC, CNC, RMC* etc).

What's the benefit of mining in the newer alt coins? They seem to be popping up everywhere but I see lite/bit safer to stick around long term

Anyone using GUIMiner Scrypt with a 7970?

Rebuilt my rig with one yesterday and am wanting the best settings to use, currently ranging between 550 - 600 khash with default "high intensity" settings, should be able to do better right?

Don't select crossfire in the drivers and don't put the bridge on is the first tip.

Is it just me or has litecoin difficulty fallen?

Yup has fallen slightly to 396. Probably the effect of people moving their mining operations into other alt coins.

Damn, thats what my 7970 is getting overclocked to 1125 (and at like 75 degrees)!

Are you using GUIMiner-scrypt or CGMiner etc on command prompt?

    If so, what settings?

    680 seems too high for a 7950.

Are you sure you're not just getting mad hardware errors and rejects?
