If it gets passed, I hope I have enough time to buy some gold to sell to them at highly inflated rates

There's already things coming out about how the Fed gave money to foreign banks and what types of garbage they have been buying.

If it reveals that the Fed has been involved in all kinds of shenanigans to keep the current system afloat, then said shenanigans will either be praised or, at best, swept under the carpet. This is the system as it is, extremely corrupt, extremely unstable, but this is what we have inherited and those trying to prop it up will be praised regardless of their actions because the vast majority of people just don't want change. They find it too hard. This will continue until (if) it collapses. At which point the petty scape-goating will start. That's society.

You can see this reasoning all the time when arguing with people about the govt. They sweep all the bad stuff under the carpet and focus on the few things that are good, ignore the nature of it, all because they believe government is vitally necessary and they don't want change.
