The way he structured the auction is also idiotic. Starting price $999 Buy it now price $1000 Gotta love dumbness and dishonesty in one person.
with listings like that allowed to stand, it's no wonder ebay has a problem with the perception of containing rip-offs and crooks.
how was it possible? when I try to put buy it now price less then 10% above the starting price ebay doesn't allow me to proceed with listing
wait a sec, isnt gold $1700+ per ounce can someone explain why at $1k buy it now its not a good deal?
Look carefully, it's advertised as 999 mills - which usually means gold-plated cheap metals (copper, zinc, nickel, for example). It's not an 1 oz 999 gold.
I reported the turtle head to ebay for what its worth. Perhaps if more of us do the same they might do something
"1oz pure australian gold" I don't f***ing think so mate. Utterly disgraceful. May his gonads be infested with the fleas of a thousand camels.
Aahh I've upset him  I sent him a message telling him his a scammer I got a response " it says it's gold " Yeah sure
eBay should ask him to correct his entry as it is extremely misleading and someone out there might be caught out and loose his or her shirt ! However eBay is out to make about 15%, including PayPal, of $1000 leaving the debate entirely between this sheister and his poor victim. Who reckons eBay will do anything ? I think this will run to the end and hopefully no-one will buy.
This is his latest response Dear spannermonkey70, so you cant read either read the back sunshine 999mills gold 1 troy ounce now if youve got nothing better to do than cause trouble go somewhere else peanut
Exactly the reason it's a scam - tricks people into thinking they're buying actual gold instead of gold plated base metal. See http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-810-ebay-warning-100-mills-silver.html - looks like they've moved onto "999 mills" gold. There's no such thing as 999 mills - it's an invented term by scammers.
