Hi all. Been lurking on here for some time, reading up and trying to pick up some tips along the way. I'm a first time stacker and (so far) have been enjoying the experience. This is primarily a bit of a hobby for me (as disgusting as that may be to some of you and a way for me to squirrel away disposable income that would otherwise be spent on other toys and frivolities. I figured that I might as well put that money towards something that is enjoyable and (hopefully) will pay a dividend in the future. I'm certainly not looking for short term gains ... although I have managed to make a few very small ones! I try to convince myself that I believe that silver is silver, is silver ... but I still find some bright and shiny things terribly distracting At the moment it's Zombucks .. there's just something about the 'official' tender of the zombie apocalypse that I find way too much fun to ignore. That said, I do try to buy as close to spot as possible and have recently started getting some pre '45 florins and round 50's to add to the pile. Having only been at it for a couple of months, and diligently tracking my spending and trades, I was pleasantly surprised (and assisted somewhat by the recent blip in spot) when I saw that my stack is now returning a profit over spot ... I took that as a little win And yes, even though I'm not looking for short term gains, it's nice to know that my little pile (short stack) is worth more than I paid for it ... even with the ridiculous Zombucks premium That's a little about me anyway. Happy to join this very informative community, looking at getting in on a few trades (eBay is hell!!), and hoping not to stand on too many toes in my first dance. Cheers all, Short Stack.
Welcome, I have also found this site great and some members really good to trade with, much better then eBay.
welcome! I used to check my spreadsheets many times a day when spot was going up, I don't check them that often at the moment for some reason
Thanks everyone for the welcome! Yeah I'm sure it'll pass for me too, at the moment it's still fun to track my progress .... micro managing myself at its best! Ha, at the moment I'd be flat out spreading it across the bottom of the drawer, but I'm making progress
