Go and check it now, the available amount becomes 500! No wonder Perth mint sold out, all went to dealers' hands
Looks like Perth Bullion's ebay store is just about out of the DeLoreans http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2015-1-B...318586?hash=item1c5b81d0fa:g:d7MAAOSwwbdWKKH3 . 139 sold @ $160 each and 1 left. The hoverboards seem kind of scarce on eBay. Searching internationally, I can find 9 current sales that include them, all but one are buy-it-now sales and 3 are package deals (e.g. buy the hoverboard and the DeLorean with some deals also including the gold coin). Only the auction and a buy-it-now offer from Germany are selling the hoverboard for less than $300 AUD. Average sales price on the last 5 hoverboards sold was $288.10 and the average over the last week was $288.40 AUD.
Talisman Coins in the US still has some hoverboards up for pre-order at USD $249.95 http://talismancoins.com/products/65032
At that price (~$350.00 AUD), I'm not surprised. eBay prices (pre-shipping) are maxing out at around $320 AUD (pre-shipping) and many are selling for less than $300 AUD (pre-shipping).
what do you take the shop don't worry I know its only plastic but I tried a 1 oz PM coin at Coles and they wouldn't take LOL
The DeLoreans are now sold out at Perth Bullion but 19 still available on eBay for AUD160 plus AUD8 shipping. I think they will gone soon.
In Germany Hoverboard is still available for about 240 AUD. DeLorean and Hoverboard together for about 380 AUD. I think when people get delivered and try to sell, the prices will go down for short time.
Melbourne stackers got to play with a deloreon...the car not the coin...and an actual hoverboard today. Hoverboard is a ripper!
Alternatively there's only one that has returned to this point in time 362 times.
Does anyone know the very rough, ballpark cost for the licensing of Back to the Future rights for these coins? Would it be per-coin, or a once off charge for as many coins as needed? Is it tough to negotiate, or do you basically say "I want to do this..." and they look up the charge based on some exist g formula? Maybe GoldPelican would know? I'm not looking for any confidential information, just some sort of idea about how much these sorts of things usually cost.
