Sir Newton's supposed response to his financial loss from the South Sea Bubble: "I can calculate the motions of heavenly bodies, but not the madness of men." This was a guy who literally 'wrote the book' on calculus. (Any Leibniz fanboys can go suck...an apple) According to this link, a number of Einstein's personal letters revealed he made some poor investment decisions too.
