Walking in the CBD (Melbourne) today and spotted a new retail fitout being done for "Australian Coin and Bullion Exchange" - actually what grabbed my attention was 3oz of gold and a pair of kilo silver bars in a display case in the window. So looks like a new retail bullion dealer in the city.
Wow, wish I had the cash to start up a bullion business =D. (This is my dream now lol). Wonder if they would open in Sydney. Slam
Not a new dealer. Been around for about 18months or so, but trading from above a watch shop in Little Collins. Be interesting to see how they go with a shop front.
Well thinking about it, My dream is to own a small little shop. In a popular area. The shop doesn't need to be big, probably 2 times the size of a cash changer booth. At least you won't need to pay rent for the rest of your life. And just hang around in there, buy and sell bullion. Slam Edit: I guess wait for property to crash, sell the silver when it skyrockets and buy a shop.
I was walking in collins st about 11 am today and all of a sudden we had about an inch of rain dumped on us in 20 minutes, that was refreshing
got completely soaked today 2 in the cbd.. more shops like this are good for the city, more competition and variety. beats paying postage.
You wouldn't be the first one whose made that leap from stacker to dealer. A few of the guys here who got in early have beaten that path for us. I'm sure there'll be plenty more before this bull market is finished.
If your'e going to open a shop not only would you buy and sell gold/silver bullion and coins. Why not sell jewelery as well. That would get extra people in to browse. What about german gold. Now that's a high profit line. Regards Errol43
Just stopped in for a squiz during my lunch hour. They've only just opened, not a lot of stuff on display yet, you can still smell the fresh paint! Nice layout and the staff were very friendly. Selling mostly their own refined ACB silver and gold bullion bars, and some gold coins (ie. sovs and half sovs). No "100 point" check required for transactions under $10k, but they may ask for a drivers license. They accept cash or bank cheque, but not credit cards. The address is: 362 Little Collins St Melbourne t: 03 9642 0466 f: 03 9642 0788 web site is coming.. http://www.acandb.com.au/ rgeds
Thankyou Mistered. I also had a look and found the shop to be abit bare on the goods. Give it time though and I'm sure it will look healthier. Always good to have another bullion dealer in melbourne.
