Just a beginner question: Is 10oz Kookaburra Silver Coin much better than other 10oz? People seems much prefer it.

Far more qualified people here then I for this ? But they're more sought after and collectible from what I've seen. I've already got afew diff 10oz kook years so atm the others looking good
Ahoy, Welcome Aboard and thanks for the bid @BelfastChild (Joining the fray with a hefty increase on Lot 4 (the 2011 10oz Kook) ) It's hard to say what individuals prefer, for me I would think the Lunars are good value (and certainly are at the current price point ) but the Kookaburras have a great following too Leader-Board Lot 1 (Eclectics) – $300 SteelHand Lot 2 (10oz Goat) – $285 Real $ Lot 3 (10oz Pig) – $285 Real $ Lot 4 (10oz Kook) – $345 BelfastChild Lot 5 (the Kangas) – $300 SolidAg
I don't consider myself an expert on this matter, but here's my take on it. The Perth Mint has global recognition and renown for its products; the fact that it's a government-backed (be that for better or worse), legal tender coin with an annual drastic design change - leading to collectibility - along with theoretically limited mintage (the 1oz variety might be produced in the millions, whereas the larger coins could be only in the tens of thousands). There's a lot of international and also domestic demand for certain years, which could be for any reason. Or no reason at all. And, unlike let's say the Chinese Pandas, which command a huge premium relative to the mass, the local example of larger bullion coins tend to be just as good (if not better) than the other offerings. It all ultimately comes down to individual preference - whether you want to collect for the semi-numismatic allure or you just plan to stack them for the silver content (there are better options for that), as long as you have your own reasons behind it, everything is collectible Now while I'm here... Lot 3: $290
