I can get Dragons here - half oz all the way up to 1kg. Prices are a little bit above Kooks BUT the 1 oz is selling at about twice the price for an equivalent 1 oz coin - anyone know why ?
Most likely due to the fact that the company is seeing such a demand that they figured if I double the price people will still buy them.
Absolutely - there are crazy people out there with more money than sense. Paying $100+ for a bullion ounce !! When I was a kid living by the sea we threw shrimp and lobsters back into the water. No-one wanted them. The "poor" ate them becasue they couldn't afford to buy anything else. Hike the price astronomically and overnight they become delicacies and attract premium prices. Dragon collectors - be careful !
Yep $100 for an oz the day after release... absolutely ridiculous..More dollars than sense is the old saying
If any of you have a Perth Mint account and not expecting large quantity of 1oz silver dragons, I think you can still give their website order a go. Just out of my curiosity, I just tested, when I tried adding 1oz gold dragon, I got a out of stock message, but when I tried with the 1oz silver, it let me proceed further. Again, I didn't buy any, I was just testing to see if they are really out of stock thats all. Good luck stackers.
Can i just ask why you didnt buy.. knowing that they are selling for $100 each? Why would you not want to double your money? I thought it was a no-brainer that if you could order from perth mint you would.. i sure as hell would if i could. its like a gift from the Perth Mint.. are you much into gifts? 1for1
Because I bought 5 yesterday. I only needed 2 to keep my current lunar set going, promised my niece 1 for her b'day and the remaining 2 ... not sure what to do yet and I didn't use up my 10 per customer quoter due to cash flow
Understood Lamp - Cashflow is an acceptable reason. I thought the max per person was 20 no? It does make sense to buy as you will profit.. (esp if your tight on cash this could get you out of your bind - you just need to borrow the money for a few hours i guess). 1for1
Yeah they are still available in the silver 1 oz I only bought a few yesterday and just 5 minutes ago ordered the rest of my quota no problems.
Can you buy from the Perth mint if I'm in the states? Would it even be worth it? Or should I wait for apmex and the like to have them in stock.
depending on contract, sometime you can purchase Aussie Lunar silver coins in China before common australian purchase in Aus. that because Perth Mint have contract or group buy offer before selling to Aus public.
What % of the 1oz coins do people reckon have actually been released by dealers to this point in time? I'm going with 20% max. It seems the usual couple of suspects in the US have the lions share and not until then open the floodgates will the price drop (depending on their release price) sometime next week...stand-by.
wow , i don't even haave a quota, may be need to move the whole island to Rottness nearby. Singapore need to float there help me dragoon, flood the whole world so that I can end up there.
I'd rather spend $1300 on a kg bar than $1300 on 13 1 oz coins. Ounces is the name of the game. Having said that I have been sucked in by lunars b4, but not this time
good point I just sold 5 pieces canadan 80% silver dollar for 25 bucks each, below spot price a lot. if they are silver bar, I 100% sure it will sell more than spot price!
All the profiteers sitting on their dragons rubbing hands together thinking 'this is too easy' The big yank players open the floodgates and bang numi value shot to sh@t . Wise players are moving their 'quota' while the hype still at fever pitch, give it a month and 2012 dragons, will be the same as other lunar coins, bar the 2000 dragon. Good luck to all , it is very entertaining watching the 'sellers' push the panic button to grossly inflate the price! $100 each when still readily available, what a load of bs that is! Caveat Emptor!
I think you are miscalculating the effect of 1.3 billion Chinese people wanting a coin to remember their favourite animal - The Dragon - during the period while silver is sky-rocketing. Speaking to a German dealer the other day... a very large proportion of them have already been sent to the Chinese market.
It is all speculation, german dealer said this, yank dealer said that, sold out, oh no, pure lip service All designed for maximum profit, plenty of sheeple bleating for dragons. They are after all just 1oz of bullion.....
