I got these through a postal auction and I was more curious than anything. It occurred to me only after I got them that I don't know anything about it beyond the one sentence auction description of 18th and 19th century Chinese cash.

Can anyone help me out with anything a little more specific?

You'll need a full catelogue of Chinese "cash" to identify the coins, and their value.
they all look very similar, but the inscriptions on it will identify the location of the mint which then determines their values.

18th and 19th century "cash" were casted (they were casted not struck) in their millions, so they are generally worthless unless they were from specific mint which had low mintage.

I didn't have any illusions about their value, I certainly didn't think they were worth more than a couple dollars each. Mostly I was just interested in identifying them out of historical curiosity.

thanks for the links everyone! Definitely a lot to go on with. Now I have to work through the 400 odd notgeld I got.
