Hello, just got word of this issue: Proof Lunar Dragon Issue Tuvalu $2 legal tender

    - This Proof coin comes with a Certificate of authenticity and display box

    - Item has a very low Mintage (unknown)

To me this coin looks like those cheap plated issues coming out of china but ill admit the image is of a poor standard so ill refrain from making a final judgement.. anyone else have further info on this issue?

I think it's of Taiwanese origin.

Not sure by which mint though.

    Reasons for my guess:

    1. Traditional Chinese characters used only in HK/TW.
    2. Queen's head on coins from China? No way!
    3. eBay sellers selling them are from Taiwan

Are the Tuvalu issues not all Perth Mint such as the dangerious creatures set.. ie: red back spider..

I agree given the chinese characters the desired market may be chinese but my bet is its a Perth Mint product like all other Tuvalu isses (but im not an expert on Perth Mint Proof issues) so anyone?

I think NZ mint may create Tuvalu issues as well. Not 100% sure though so don't take my word for it. I recall the Hello Kitty coin from NZ mint was Tuvalu $.

It could most definitely be a Perth Mint issue only in Taiwan much like the 9 coin dragon set, although it seems a bit unlikely since the design is very good.

Also, the $ denomination rules out a China mint product as they use Yuan.

Yeah - all 10, 000 of them... i couldnt find stats on the median salary but id guess a few of these puppies would be there yearly spend given the lack of industry and int'l trade.
