Should we expect the dumping of another $3 billion in paper gold?

Who cares ? Each dump is getting less and less traction. I think calling for sanctions against China is the most rediculous thing I have heard yet from the Trump administration. If that happens there won't be a light bulb in the US never mind the ability to dump garbage paper on the comex. I think you should care less about a future dump and more about accumulating PM ..... just my opinion.

The billion$ in longs that caused the recent run up in price will have to be unwound with shorts. Such is the mechanics of a market.
The permabulls will howl with discontent at this rational market dynamic, whilst claiming an empty I-told-you-so victory in the quest to gain "proof" of their self-vindicating Crimex theory.
The logical markets players will chuckle and roll eyes.
The market will rinse and repeat.

    Less traction for sure.
I have a feeling TPTB are going to have to start attacking the Cryptos sooner than later.

Not going to happen Ronnie. It is that late in the (money) game that the godzillions of invented fiat will come chasing real assets.

I've got my 1/4 oz. of available above-ground silver for each person on earth, & I think the number for Gold is about 1 ounce per person.

    2 Billion oz Silver
    8 Billion oz Gold

You do the MAFF. Which is more valuable?

When I read the paper dump into gold phrase at the tope, I thought of speculators buying gold with fiat money. Yes, indeed it can be a "dumping technique" as well.

Gold's price gets pushed up artificially.

If fiat money loses a lot of value, traders won't even want to sell their gold for fiat.

Those who are stacking gold and silver will keep watching PM prices in fiat values. But either fiat goes into gold or gold goes into fiat (real trade or manipulation), regardless: it's a two-way game.

Meanwhile: Bitcoin is going sky high...

Clearly it is not going to happen - I know, but reading some of the comments you think that the Crimex and banks with their fictitious COT report control the markets. As the commercials are now increasing their short position, and each day you see magical moves in the $/¥ ratio (used to hedge paper gold) and capping of gold and silver to moving averages one is lead by the nose to believe that a huge correction is coming. No this is not 2011, the US$ is weak and falling daily, the real markets are now showing that they are vulnerable and best of all the commercials on the COT are still 100,000 contracts long on their all time short position. So who knows .... in my opinion we all know squat. The day will come when the tail no longer wags the dog and these fraudulent paper scams we call markets have no impact. You tell me when that day is coming, this month , this year next year ? We don't know but that day is coming so betting on those despicable people like ex-con Armstrong or nowhere to found Dent is silly. Just my opinion.

Keep you cryptos, id rather maintain my wealth.
We live in a time were profit is god.
I believe morals and integrity mean more than profit at any cost.

True. I think cryptos are speculative assets, not ideal for wealth preservation. At least at this time.

But it seems like they're fantastic speculative assets. UNTIL: enough people buy in and speculate their brains out. After that, they might go bust. All the cryptos. Unless they find wider use for them (like a means of exchange), otherwise you can't speculate anymore once the crowds went in.

You are absolutely right about morals and integrity.

As for material wealth preservation: land/real estate + PMs + some fiat

4 Billion $ spent for a whole $9 wow that is what I call bang for the buck or should I say whimper. Gold is above the 200 day MA ( about $1268-1270) and that is provinding strong support. Yes they may try again next week with another $4 Billion or maybe 10Billion. It’s only play play money that the can print out of fresh air so who cares. Simple Cartel raids like this are not going to achieve much lower gold prices to do that they have to manipulate a lot more if they want gold down to the next support at $1250. It will cost a lot more than 10 Billion and I think they know that.
