I think there should be a consensus between the members on how long a sale thread is valid for. Since spot has been rising members would Pm offering to buy items from a thread that has been inactive for over a week and would obviously be ridiculous for me to sell at the currently much higher spot price. It annoys me as my Pm gets flooded and I have to waste time responding and explaining that the offer is not valid at the higher spot rice.
Communication is the key... Just put in a disclaimer such as "$X while spot is under $X" or price it at spot +X% in your original thread Or update your old threads with new prices or "No longer available" Or keep answering hunderds of PMs and dissapointing potential customers.
Agree with this one 100%. There are a few others that need to be mentioned also. 1. Agreeing to buy, then spot drops, never hear from them again until spot comes back up (weeks later), then wanting everything to be as is was. 2. Making offers below spot and wanting postage included. 3. Making an offer based on the selling price of another selling. 4. Placing wanted ads with no intention of buying. I now have a list of known time wasters, lowballers that I keep next to the computer PE
I would like to add to this list: 5. Seller lists an item and recieves PM from buyer within an hour for a sale, then waits all day to respond, and eventually notifies buyer that price of item has now risen due to spot. Then when told where to go, offers item at original price. Then gets told where to go again. 6. Seller lists item, buyer buzzes item, deal is done, then next day seller makes up BS story about how when hw went to his vault to get item it was not there and he must have mistaken it with something else. 7. Seller lists item (coin) as mint condition. When buyer receives coin, it has hairlines and nicks all over it that even blind Freddie could see, yet seller insists he did not notice them at time of posting. 8. Buyer places [WTB] add, helpful stacker responds that although he doesn't have said item he knows where to get it and PM's a link. Buyer then requests that helpful stacker orders item for them, pays postage and PP fees, and passes item on at retail price only. WTF!! It swings both ways.
Why all the negativity? Thought it would be a good thing to have all this extra attention for your sale threads, which comes with the rising spot price.
