Actually now I think about it - I never could work out why Marks & Spencer in UK always had the 'St. Michael' label in the back of all their undies... Maybe this is why... prevention of the dominance of Evil over Good? Hmmm... (deep thought...)

    :D

I understand it is meant to be St Michael (thank you for the link) but i do wonder if the image depicts a son of god/angel or even maybe a nephilim doing battle with a draco or some sort of reptilian entity. What happened to the nephilim in the post deluvian era? Some sources say they survived the flood and most likely they did. How do they fit in with the idea of a ruling bloodline? I imagine they would have a strong distaste, if not hatred, for the Annunaki, or at least for some of them. Mythology is interesting.
I wish i paid more attention in class...

    Nice coin in any case.

Michael is an Archangel - one of the Warrior Angels. The graphical references in this instance refer to Armageddon and the encounter in Revelations 12:7 - You'll find that Satan is represented either in human-like form or analogous as a dragon... it's one of those fairytale distortion things.

Personally I know it's all a load of claptrappery (agnostic)... but fascinating - Like how come dragons turn up in so many geographically seperated populations, or why the Toltecs/Mayans/Aztecs had pyramids when the Egyptians had theirs and post-Indus Valley civilisation in Mesopotamia had their ziggurats... If you trace the mitochondrial DNA migration after around 100,000 years ago Arabs & Jews come from the same roots anyhow, the Quran shares the same threads as the Bible etc...

One thing is for certain though, and that's if Moses had turned right instead of left after being cast out of Egypt the Jews would have got all the oil & the Arabs would have got all the oranges

Yes - the serpent/dragon/reptile reference as the devil/lucifer is very interesting
an epic battle i am sure .... God could have sorted it out in the garden of Eden ... but no ....
it seems an "archangel" has wounded the creature .... but not killed it ...
dragons do love their gold .....

An archangel ( /rkendl/) is an angel of high rank.

Archangels are found in a number of religious traditions, including Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Whether in the Catholic or the Protestant Bible, the term "archangel" appears only twice: in Jude 1:9, where it is applied to Michael, and in 1 Thessalonians 4:16, where it is used generically or, according to Jehovah's Witnesses, of "the Lord". Michael and Gabriel are recognized as archangels in Judaism and by most Christians.

The Book of Tobitrecognized in the Catholic and Orthodox Bibles, but considered apocryphal by Protestantsmentions Raphael, who is also considered to be an archangel. The archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael are venerated in the Roman Catholic Church with a feast on September 29 (formerly March 24 for Gabriel and 24 October for Raphael).

The named archangels in Islam are Gabriel, Michael, Israfel and Azrael.

In Zoroastrianism, sacred texts allude to the six great Amesha Spenta (literally "divine sparks")
    of Ahura Mazda.

Other traditions have identified a group of seven Archangels, the names of which vary, depending on the source.

The word archangel is derived from the Greek (arch- + angel, literally chief angel).[1]

so we have a depiction of a (very skimpy) angel of high rank (certainly in strength) - certainly a super being - but not "God" - doing battle with a (gold loving) dragon entity .... presumably some time in the future ... or in our distant past
