Hello maybe a thread where a certain coin, or chunk of precious metal was sold.

Anyways, check out the beauty scored below by someone who had $5k laying around

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...witem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_500wt_1156

19 euro gold coins from the 19th century

each coin is 0.1867 oz agw, PLUS they feature the older design ( the winged angel type a guy ) and also 19th rather than early 20th century.

    total price paid

    $5022.87 + $35 for postage = $5057.87 USD

    total gold bought 0.1867 x 19 = 3.5473 oz

price per oz bought = 5057.87/3.5473 = USD $1425.83 per oz gold !!!ROUGHLY AROUND $100 DISCOUNT PER OZ IN USD OR AROUND 7.5% BELOW SPOT

when the buyer of those coins takes delivery he will be able to sell them individually for at least spot + 7.5% AT LEAST and up to
spot + 15% if a rarer mintage year present.

that above is the power of having some dry gunpowder, and knowing what you are looking for.

See Thucy, i saw that ebay listing and saw something completely different. I saw someone taking a big risk.

    * the seller has feedback less than 100
    * the seller has 95% positive feedback
    * the most recent feedback left for the seller was negative, saying the items "were forgeries"
    * the seller's listings are private

In isolation these points above might be ok ... But together, they say to me "DANGER, Will Robinson!"

EDIT: My point being, if the seller had 10,000 feedback and 100% positive, my guess it would have gone for much higher, as less chance of being ripped off. The ol' risk vs reward thing.

Good point, rbaggio. You have to have sharp eyes and a clear head to buy on eBAY.

However ,Thucy has a good idea here.Research into past sales is an integral part of knowing the market for any given type of PM..or any other commodity ,for that matter.

I never used to do that, now I run a previous sale check ,regularly. It has helped me to buy better.

AND I look for feedback too :)

    Hello Guys,

Me again, and even more importantly ABOVE SELLER with another listing which is the same as the one above ( meaning same type of coins )

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/280730204157?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1431.l2649

He sent me an email to let me know that he has listed some more gold - ( i bought 6 x 20 Francs Helvetia of him a few months ago ) and told him to
let me know in case he lists more gold in the future - and he sent me an email yesterday.

Anyways, i have just now noticed that he is using the same foto in this current listing which he used a few months ago - ( see on top of this thread, the photo in this thread post #1 is from that listing )

Will send him an email and let him know about the 'findings' wanna see how he will respond :)

    But if all is legit

than this current one will end at $6850 at least - and above calculations are still valid

Notice - than the coins ended up selling at -7% to SPOT !!!

and these 20 Francs Angel coins sell at 8% premium over spot on eBay ( check for yourself )

If this guy is genuine, than buying the 19 x 20 Francs is ok til at least +3% over spot

    These are rare gold coins

I have already bought gold coins of this guy - see below

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/28068161835...ee-All-Categories&_fvi=1&_rdc=1#ht_500wt_1413

He is also selling some artsy stuff at high prices, and the negative feedback was from that and had nothing to do with the coins.

I am just saying that the last time, the same lot of coins went 7% below spot - ( actually this coincidence is great - after current auction finishes
we can have a look and perform the same analysis )

Rest assured, the coins when sold ONE by ONE on eBay easily fetch SPOT + 7%

Nice place for someone with 3.5 oz laying around, to sell and with the money buy these coins, and than sell the French coins and keep
    the profit.

However it is strange that he is using the same fotos - he actually has the 6 x 20 Francs Helvetia coins up for sale too

    Beste fwutfwutfwut,

    Hello,

    Thanks for letting me know.

Sadly, currently i dont have that much cash for the amount of gold u are selling.

I have noticed, that you have EXACTLY the same photos and listings as last time a few months ago.
    Its a little strange.
