I heard the 2010 American Eagle Silver Proof Coin is out now. What ever happened to the 2009 ASE Proof? Last year the Mint mentioned they weren't going to produce them. Instead focussing on their bullion production. Did 2009 ever come out or still never released?
I don't believe a 2009 silver proof ASE was minted. By law the US Mint has to produce enough bullion coins to meet demand. For 2009 they either couldn't get enough blanks or it took all the blanks they had to meet demand. They are now trying to get the law changed, so that they could reduce the amount of bullion minted in order to produce proof and uncirculated coins.
Yeah that's what I thought.. no 2009 proof version. The only year they have missed out on in the series. And now there is a 2010 version.
